ADAM ONDRA - WORKING MOVE 9B/+

See video

In May 2013, Adam Ondra drilled a few very hard projects in the "Flatanger cave". In August 2013, it was time to get back to Norway and to start working them. It was our 4th long trip to far Norway during the last year. Adam chose one 55m long one, all the time in the overhang, big part of it in the 100% roof, including the crux. It seemed to be as hard as Change, the world?s first 9b+, which he established here in October 2012.

Black Diamond athletes Daniel Jung and Nico and Olivier Favresse are always on the hunt for first ascents, and their most recent search led them to Norway where they found a stunning, overhanging wall laced with cracks. The trio's FA pursuit involved skin-shredding jams, mega whippers, and daily shenanigans, including scooter jumping and swapping tooth-brushing tips.

Last summer, Black Diamond athlete Adam Ondra made a highly productive trip to Hanshalleren, a massive granite cave outside the small town of Flatanger, Norway. Adam not only made short work of the cave's established hard routes (including onsighting two routes graded 5.14c/8c+), he made the first ascent of Thor's Hammer (5.15a/9a+) and bolted a futuristic project out the steepest section of the cave. On October 4, Adam managed to link this 55-meter-long beast, establishing Change, the world's first route graded 5.15c/9b+.

Dani, Magnus and I sessioned on this incredible route for two days, competing for 15,000 norwegian kroner for the first ascent.

Dani and Magnus obviously climbed the route with style and grace, while I climbed with wild desperation... but it worked. I don't think I've ever topped out a route after becoming so terminally pumped on it.
