Grindelwald’s first IFSC World Cup, only the third stop in the whirlwind World Cup series, stood out by the record number of competitors (139 in total) and the quality of the route-setting, with tough problems and a variety of power, precision, and dynamic moves, allowing our climbers to truly battle.

Bouldering, sport, trad, multi-pitch—if it's rock, Barbara Zangerl crushes it. Though she calls Austria home, more often than not she's on the road throughout Europe and beyond, hunting down her next climbing challenge. A recent trip to Ticino, Switzerland had her going to battle on Super Cirill, a nine-pitch crack line stacked with difficult 8a climbing. We sent filmmaker Bernardo Gimenez down there with her and he returned with this great video that showcases both the demanding nature of the route as well as Babsi's laid-back approach to life.

'A new short film about Lochaber-based climber Dave MacLeod is being produced with an aim of showing it at mountain festivals around the world.
Video production team Wojtek Kozakiewicz and Lukasz Warzecha shot Mr MacLeod bouldering in Switzerland.
A heat wave made difficult climbs even tougher in an area called Magic Wood, before temperatures dropped and Mr MacLeod completed the challenges.
A 10-12 minute long film is being made for screening at festivals.
For 2013, a full length film will be released and made available as a free online viral video.

Welcome to the Hood highlights the 2 month trip to Switzerland, Austria and France shared by
climbers and friends Daniel Woods, Paul Robinson, Guntram Joerg, and Anthony Gullsten. Climbing in
Ticino, Murgtal, Silvretta, and Fontainebleau, the crew accomplished some of their biggest climbing
achievements to date. Witness Guntram and Anthony send their first 8B+/8C, Paul make the
first ascent of an 8B+, and Daniel make the first 8B+/8C flash in the world.
